Korea's Scorching Heat Wave Puts AI Data Centers to the Test

A record heat wave is sweeping across Korea, pushing temperatures towards 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), and AI data centers are racing to keep their servers cool. Naver Cloud, which operates the massive Gak Chuncheon and Gak Sejong AI data centers, is closely monitoring server room temperatures to prevent overheating. The industry faces a critical challenge as high-performance hardware like GPUs produces five to six times as much heat as equipment in conventional data centers.
