In a thrilling mid-week match, the Lionsbridge men's soccer team dominated Bethesda SC with a resounding 6-1 victory at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Christian Hatley scored twice, while Hoyos Lopez netted a goal and provided three assists to lead the team to their fourth win of the season. The victory propelled Lionsbridge to a 4-1-1 overall record and a 2-1-1 record in the USL League Two's Chesapeake Division.

The match got off to a strong start for Lionsbridge, with Lopez giving his team the lead in the 24th minute on a header, courtesy of a Rai Pinto assist. Cristian Ortiz then doubled the lead in the 36th minute, with Lopez providing the pass that set up the goal. The first half came to a close with Lionsbridge holding a 2-0 advantage. However, the second half was delayed by over an hour due to inclement weather, which may have affected the team's momentum.

Once play resumed, Bethesda managed to reduce the deficit to 2-1 in the 50th minute, thanks to a goal by Carson Shamoo. Nevertheless, Lionsbridge quickly regained their composure and extended their lead. Timo Boomkens scored in the 62nd minute, rebounding a shot by Luc Achermann to make it 3-1. Achermann then scored himself in the 74th minute, courtesy of a Lopez assist, to further widen the gap to 4-1.

The goals kept coming for Lionsbridge, as Hatley netted his first goal of the match in the 78th minute, assisted by Josh Baker. Hatley struck again in the 86th minute, this time with an assist from Lopez, to seal the 6-1 victory. The win sets the stage for Lionsbridge's upcoming match against Christos FC at Christopher Newport's TowneBank Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the USL W League, Virginia Beach United's women's team secured a hard-fought 1-0 shutout victory over Charlottesville Blues FC. Elizabeth Rapp scored the lone goal of the match in the 65th minute, while goalkeeper Lili White posted a shutout to help VBU improve their record to 2-1. The outcome dropped Charlottesville Blues FC to 0-3 on the season.

In another W League match, the Virginia Development Academy registered a 3-1 victory over Virginia Atlantic FC. The visitors from Woodbridge went ahead 2-0 on goals by Kyndal Shuler in the eighth and 22nd minutes. They then extended their lead to 3-0 in the 55th minute, courtesy of a goal by Samantha DeGuzman, a former Virginia Tech player who has transferred to James Madison. Although Lamar University's Emma Oubrik scored for Virginia Atlantic in the 65th minute to avoid a shutout, the Virginia Development Academy's win marked a significant milestone in their season.

Several Hampton University men's athletes also made headlines at the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Kentucky. Marquis White finished 24th in the long jump with a distance of 24 feet, 5 inches, while Yashahya Brown placed 27th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.90 seconds.
