Mahindra & Mahindra Sees Significant Spike in Auto Sales: A 26% Year-on-Year Increase

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, has announced a substantial increase in its auto sales for July 2026. The company reported a total of 1,03,860 vehicle sales, representing a 26% year-on-year growth. This remarkable surge in sales can be attributed to the strong performance of its utility vehicles and light commercial vehicles segments.

The domestic sales of utility vehicles stood at 60,048 units, marking a 20% year-on-year increase. When including exports, the total utility vehicle sales amounted to 60,887 units. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed satisfaction with the company's SUV sales, which delivered a growth of 20%.

In the light commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra & Mahindra witnessed strong performance across various subsegments. The sales of LCVs under 2 tonnes surged by 40% to 3,870 units, while LCVs in the 2-3.5 tonnes category rose by 21% to 21,334 units. Additionally, the company's three-wheeler sales, including electric models, saw a significant increase of 53% to 14,538 units.

On a year-to-date basis, Mahindra & Mahindra's utility vehicle sales have grown by 16% to 2,34,793 units. The company's three-wheeler sales have also witnessed a substantial increase of 69% to 50,793 units. Furthermore, the sales of LCVs under 2 tonnes have risen by 31%, and the 2-3.5 tonnes segment has seen a growth of 19%.

Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has also reported impressive sales figures. In June 2026, the company's domestic tractor sales stood at 58,177 units, representing a 12% year-on-year increase. The total tractor sales for the month were 59,935 units, up from 53,392 units in the corresponding period last year. Exports for the month amounted to 1,758 units.

The financial year 2026 has been a remarkable one for Mahindra & Mahindra, with the company achieving all-time-high volumes of 6,60,276 SUVs and 2,89,597 light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes. These segments have delivered robust year-on-year growth of 20% and 13%, respectively.
